Not exactly sure where this goes, but I need to rant. I just saw the closing night show and it absolutely PHENOMENAL, but it amazes me how two girls (about 12 years old) talked and texted obnoxiously behind me throughout the entire show. Thankfully my friend and I told them to stop during intermission as well as the people sitting next to them. Mind you we we're in third row seat on the right section. Steven Sater was just a mere 4 seats to the left of us and these girls continued to act as if they we're the most important things in the world. During the suicide scene they said "Wow are people actually crying?" and starting fake sobbing to make fun of everyone. Also at one point during the show they were talking about how everyone was quiet and almost confused. They even mentioned me because I definitely shot a couple dirty glances their way. I've never seen people act sooo extremely rude at a show before and so extremely disrespectful. I don't care if they didn't respect me or my friend it was just the level of disrespect for the performers. I mean I went through so much to get those tickets (as I'm sure many of you had too). It was just soo inappropriate. Ok rant over now.

I'm glad you enjoyed the show itself, but I'm sorry that you had to deal with such brats. That must be horrible.

I hate that they wasted those seats. They should have gone to true Spring Awakening fans.

Oh believe me in my head I was punching them and of course they we're totally immature when the sex scene came about, it kinda threw them off guard. But otherwise the show was the best I've ever seen it. I didn't let the little Hannah Montana wannabees ruin my night though.

Don't forget the lovely people sitting onstage or in the front row SINGING ALONG! Awesome. And totally acceptable.

How in the world did they get tickets to this?
Well their mom came came up to see them during intermission so I'm assuming that how and some other adult they were with sat right behind them and when we told them to stop during intermission the adult woman they were with was making facing at us! Dumb whore. Because at intermission their mom had extra seats or wanted to switch or something so after we talked to them they got up to leave and sit with the other people, but it was too late at that point and they had to turn around to be able to be in a seat for the second act

Yeah. And speaking along with the lines, too. It was incredibly distracting from the audience, so I can only imagine how bad it must have been for the actors.

ok so some people took it a little out of hand... applause and cheering after songs (and gerards monolgoue)... that is okkkkk but singing along (with the exception of the tf reprise) and mouthing the words is not ok... i admit i mouthed a line or 2 the last time i saw it but i was in the mezzanine prob not as istracting as people onstage

Okay, I am a rare commenter but I was sitting behind these girls in row E and I was seriously about to kill them. First of all the older girl, basically killed a leopard to make her coat and her little sister or whatever kept turning around and staring at me whenever I was bawling! And the texting!! AHH! My mom and I were so grateful that you guys said something to them! Then they totally got up and just went off somewhere and kept faking out everyone cause they couldn't decide if they were going back in their seats or not and then they finally did after second act started. eww

I am a TOTAL lurker. Completely. But I've been on here all day reading reviews, and pretending that I was there hahaha The detail and emotion we all share is fabulous. This review in particular made me register so I could respond. I live in Nashville, TN, and I was thisclose to hoppin a plane and going to NYC for the weekend. Unfortunately life doesnt work that way for me sometimes. So I chocked it up to "it's okay, I would have been a WRECK if I'd been there...let the other super-fans have the seat I would have taken up. There are a lot of us". Two people - 12 year olds, 20 year olds, 40 year olds...I don't care the age. Two people took up TWO seats that someone with any ounce of emotion, any deep-seeded LOVE for this play would have KILLED to have. Two seats. And they obviously put a damper on a few other peoples' experience with this show. This was the LAST chance to see it, the LAST chance to live it, cry through it, get Totally Fucked...and two people took up two of those coveted seats. I hope whoever was sitting in the seat for the ticket I had to give up enjoyed the show beyond belief

I know!!! That fake-out killed me. Once they got up the guy sitting next to them thanked us. But it blew my mind to look to my left and see Sater sobbing throughout the entire show and then look behind me to see just that lack of caring.

I wonder what they'd say if they knew I shed a tear all the way in Nashville? hahaha I hope they find something to love as much as I love this musical. Maybe one day they'll understand WHY people were crying, WHY there were long speeches, WHY texting and talking in the theatre is rude as FUCK...
