I think that Kyle was definately the best looking cast member that has ever been in Spring Awakening, I don't know if that is unpopular. I sure hope not!

I think Hunter was one of the most attractive. Matt Doyle has to be up there too. But all were attractive and talented.

I LOVE Eryn's Ilse. And her Wendla was great, too, when I saw her. I liked her better than Socha, that's for sure.

As I've always said, Eryn's Ilse is the best performance I have ever seen in Spring Awakening. She completely understood the character like no one else (save for one very early Lauren Pritchard performance) has ever come close to doing.

^I actually liked all of the Ilse's I've seen (Lauren, Emma, Eryn, Jenna and Steffi), but I definitely understand what you're saying. Eryn had the character down perfectly.

I think most of the kids in most professional productions of SA have been good looking. Seconded. All of the casts are just incredibly attractive. I remember reading on the comments for the Good Morning America video on YouTube, someone was loving all over Eryn's Ilse, and when I watched her, it was so apparent on how amazing she must've been playing that character. Something about how when the other cast members were doing these intricate Totally Fucked dances, she just went crazy.

I don't know if I'm late to the party or not, but Zach's post/picture of Johnny B. said everything I feel. I judge people who think JBW is unattractive.
Blasphemy.

Alyce: I'm not sure what you mean. Emma was playing Ilse in the Good Morning American video. Was someone just randomly raving over Eryn's Ilse or am I thinking of the wrong video?

Someone in the comments was raving about Eryn's Ilse and then when Alyce watched the video she felt that the way Eryn went totally wild during "Totally Stuck" would have made her a good Ilse--which confuses me. You're not thinking of the wrong video.

The camerawork for the Tonys vid is really, really amusing The camera-guy seems like he was on crack at the time. It's like he didn't know what to film so he was like 'ah screw it' and just went fucking nuts.

Lately? As said before in his thread, just because people like to fool around in the Blake thread does not mean that they hate Blake. On the other hand, the people who didn't like his Moritz usually didn't like him because he was too cartoonish and not real. Let's be honest...he did like to ham things up at times.
IMO, Johnny > Gerard > Taylor > Blake.

I've only seen Gerard, Blake, and Taylor...and Gerard's feels so long ago that I don't really feel like I can give a fair opinion on him. So, for me, based purely on vocals, Blake > Taylor. I can't decide whose characterization I liked more, because I thought they were so different.

For me, Chase > Taylor = Gerard >>>> Blake. I love all three of the ones at the top. I just didn't love Blake's Moritz as a whole. He had some good moments, but I never really got on board with his characterization.

i will admit he did "ham things up at times" but i loved his moritz! i just felt like it was easy to connect to and that the way he starts off comical and ends up tragic really moved me. And i realize this isnt the first time people have joked around about him and i dont care if there are some people who dont like him or dont think he's talented i'm just saying what i think...so hey

Dude, I loved Blake's Moritz. I loved sitting in CC7 and having him sing in my ear. That does not stop me from making fun of him in his thread. Yes, he was over the top at times and not as natural in parts as Johnny. That didn't stop me from loving his performance (more in NY than on tour, though).

Blake wasn't my favorite but I still liked him. I don't think I've ever disliked a Moritz. Same with the actors who have played Ernst or Otto come to think of it.

I wasn't sure if this should go in the Spring Awakening unpopular opinions thread or not, but here goes: I like Andy Mientus's version of "What I Wouldn't Do For You" (from the St. Louis cabaret) better than Matt Doyle's version from RSO. ETA: Thanks, whoever moved this

I've actually REALLY liked all the Moritz's I've seen so even the bottom of my list was still really enjoyable. Like Michelle, seeing Gerard was so long ago for me that I don't think I do him justice. My list would go Taylor/Chase, Gerard, Blake. Also, I think Taylor is at the top of my list because I saw his first 2 shows in Chicago and was just not a fan at all. I was so disappointed it was ridiculous (ask Jane, she is probably the only one I told, lol). Then I saw him again in Milwaukee and I was utterly blown away by the improvement.
