The Girl Who Fixed The Chair

« on: December 15, 2009, 07:43:24 PM »

Some people were floating around the idea that people should get together on Monday, January 18, 2010 and go see a show together in honor of the 1 year anniversary of Spring Awakening closing on Broadway. This way, we'll be celebrating Broadway, and doing something more productive than sitting at home being sad. Smiley

It being a Monday, there aren't a lot of shows playing, but the shows that have Monday night performances are:

- Chicago
- Mary Poppins
- Next to Normal
- Phantom of the Opera
- Rock of Ages

So let us know if you'd be interesting in attending and, if so, which show you'd be interested in (right now we're kind of leaning toward Rock of Ages, since it's MUCH HARDER to be sad at RoA than at N2N, and the other choices are kind of lame). Alternatively, we could do a dinner/gathering kind of thing, rather than go see a show.

Anyway, voice your opinion here!

That sounds awesome and I'd certainly love to do it!

As much as I'd love to see Rock of Ages, I think it would be less costly to do a dinner or gathering thing.

Oooh, if I hold off until the end of the year, this could be number 20 at Rock of Ages for me!  That gets my vote!

Also, TGO Karaoke sounds like it would be almost as epic and less expensive.

TGO Karaoke would be epic. However, I think I'd prefer to just sit and watch other people :]

I love this idea Smiley  I'll be in the city on Sunday the 17th, so if anyone's around then, my friends and I would love to meet up for lunch in between the matinee and evening showtimes!  I wouldn't be able to make anything on the 18th though.

I'm totally in. I move back to NYC the 17th so the 18th would be great. Whatever we plan is great. I feel like karaoke, although fun, might turn into a disaster. Dinner sounds nice.

The odds of me being able to go are slim. But if I could work out a schedule between the Metro and buses and one of my friends to pick me up at home, I am totally in. A show would be my choice (especially Rock of Ages), but dinner/watching people do karaoke because I'm a chicken sounds like fun too. Smiley

I'm totes up for dinner/kareoke/show.  Anything inexpensive, really (given that we'd be doing rush/lotto if we see a show)...I'd love to get together with everyone and meet other people Smiley

Ugh, I'm in NH still, but if something epic happens, I could definitely try to get back for it, since it would be nice to see you guys.

Hm, someone was creeping my tweets back and forth with Jane. Wink

But, I'm so up for this nonetheless.

My vote: Mary Poppins or Rock of Ages.

I'll be in the city doing the SA/N2N BAA master class with bobby spencer that day so i would love to do something.
I was thinking first N2N because there is an SA alumni in the show, but i get the sad thing.
so i would be up for that or Rock of ages.

In The Heights has Monday night shows. You can add that to your list.
