Wow, she looks too old for the show, based on what I've seen of her.

This show would work really well with english accents. It's all partly classical text anyway, and you know how hollywood/theatre loves to give anyone from a European country British accents.

^ haha! So this would be Braveheart meets SA then....I could live with Scottish accents so long as they were natural. Irish too but heck knows that is an easy accent to mess up (just look at Brad Pitts effort in The Devils Own) but the best would be Welsh! Oh that would be great. In all seriousness though, they could be Liverpudlian or Geordie, it wouldn't bother me, but then you'd think they are more than likely to go down the RP route. Although when it comes to the songs wouldn't British accents sound weird? My Junk, Totally F*cked and The Bitch of Living? They all sound like they should be sung with an american twang in my opinion and I swear that when I am murdering them in the shower, I attempt to put one on.

It would annoy me, quite frankly, if they put on American accents. It is set in Germany, so I don't see any need for US accents. Putting on an "American twang" when singing the songs could work, but otherwise I would want the actors to keep their accents or possibly go RP, which would be the most neutral.

-In terms of the Hungarian production, I haven’t heard much about it except that they used disco cubes. We aren’t using disco cubes.-

^ It would annoy me too if they put on American accents but I do worry about the songs....just how would it work? Seriously, if I start using a word like 'totally', my friends automatically know that I must have started to watch my OC dvds or something again....it not something that we usually say....so its going to be sort of weird whatever. I am thinking way too much into this aren't I?

No, I know exactly what you mean. But with my accent (Australian) I can sing songs with an bit of an American sound, but just enough so they actually work and not so much that you would hear it if you weren't listening for it, so they could always work something with the songs like that. Of course, I don't know how this would work with thicker accents, or if people in the cast had quite different accents (so many in such a small area!). There have been rumors about Melbournes Wicked being done with American accents, and I am so against that, so I'm a bit touchy on what accents to do plays/musicals with My general take is if the accent isn't necessary for the story/location don't put one on.

I'm pretty sure they will use english accents. In Wicked everyone uses their own accent,Boq is from Glasgow!

I think most people naturally sing with an American accent anyway (except Declan Bennett...don't know why he found it so hard to stick to one accent in RENT) I doubt they'll sing with English accents just for the sake of it.

THAT IS A FANTASTIC CAST. LAMDA kids are very well trained, and they have great looks for SA. WELL DONE, LONDON! I wish this weren't such a limited run.
