I don't understand -- you have to buy a pair of seats without having any idea where they are until you show up?

Unless you went to the box office you could never choose your stage seats on Broadway -- you just had to deal with whatever Telecharge wanted to offer. They sold the seats from AA backwards, so the day tickets went on sale, it was always a game waiting for someone to buy the seats you didn't want and try to get in at the right time to get the ones you did.

So this is just further proof all of the tour theaters have messed up stage seating?

I'm not too surprised to hear that.  I don't understand what it is about the stage seats that the theaters have freaked out over.  What city was it that did open seating for stage and people had to line up early to try to sit where they wanted?  I think that was pretty bad too

Who would I be if I had never seen Manhattan?

That was in DC. Everyone with stage seat tickets formed a line, and the usher had a whole page of stickers that listed each stage seat to put on each person's ticket. I was able to request which seat I wanted because we got there early enough, though, so I didn't have a problem with it.

It was also exciting to wait around and see if someone didn't show up to sit onstage, because you could see exactly which seats were still open Smiley

For Broadway,  I always cheated and opened three separate browsers (IE, FF, Saf) and did my search that way so I had 3 chances to pull the stage seats I wanted.

Hey, is it okay if I wear a white shirt on stage?  Or would they not let me on stage if I do?

They'll let you onstage, but it's really noticeable from the audience, so they prefer that you not.

In Boston I wore a white shirt on stage and felt so conspicuous. My boss was in the orchestra and said it was really noticeable. I don't recommend it.

Someone in the audience was wearing an orange shirt once, I was on stage and looked out into the stalls and he was glowing so obviously, just this one random person in orange. It was hard not to laugh! Wink

The Arsht Center in Miami says that fanclub members will have first dibs on onstage seating. They are not shown on the ticket master seating of the Center. In SFO, you could just buy them from ticketmaster right off the bat.

I have a quick question. I just bought stage seats pre-sale for Orlando. I got CC 13 and CC 15. I've already seen the show, but I'm bringing someone who hasn't. How's the view from these seats? Do you think it will be okay for someone who has never seen the show?

I would recommend that the person who has never seen the show before see it from the house first

Those are the seats the farthest back on stage. You really won't see faces much at all. You should be able to hear all of the dialog, though.

yeah i agree. under other circumstances those are great seats!! you have lucas on one side of you and a lot of cast members on the other side. hm i think it could be very overwhelming but it depends on the person. it isn't mandatory for someone to have seen the show before sitting onstage, but during scenes when all the action is downstage it certainly is helpful.

i haven't sat in those seats but i think they could manage if they sat in cc13. that is if they don't mind not seeing any facial expressions..

Ya. I was thinking about calling the box office to see if there are any seats further downstage. I hate being picky when I'm really happy we got stage seats, but I want my friend to enjoy the play. Since Orlando is the last stop, she's only gonna see it once, and I wanted her to see it in a totally different way than shes ever seen any other play. Thanks for the advice everyone!

Just called the box office...it was a let down. They won't let me change seats without paying again. So if anyone on this forum gets two tickets for the Saturday night show somewhere farther downstage, I'm game for switching.

How far into the run do you have your stage seats?  I still recommend seeing it from the house before sitting on stage.

I also say try to watch the show early on in the run.  When I first saw the show, they were a week away from closing leaving after a month-long run.  I kicked myself for not going earlier on, to see it more times.  I had to wait for a year before I could watch it again and sit on stage.

I have BB6 for an Orlando performance. Does anyone have any happy experiences with it?

We've got stage seats for Sat. night. I've seen it once on youtube and then once on the stage (from BB5). I was fine with the youtube first so I already knew what was going on. I'll have my friend watch the youtubed version first so that she gets an idea of the play. We should be fine with those seats after she's seen it once from the front

The first time I saw it was from BB5 which is the same seats, but other side of the stage. In my opinion (first time seeing the live show) it was probably one of the best seats because you could see everything, it was just from the side view.

I'm not really thrilled with it because you are surrounded by audience members. No cast members at all.

That's true. If you're looking at it from a more interactive view it sucks, but if you really want to watch the play, it's good. I was happy with mine because I just wanted to watch the play at the time. Considering that stage seats are already sold out, I'm happy I got mine now! Smiley

My mom had BB6 when we went--she enjoyed it. You do have people behind you during "Touch Me"--at one point I believe Steffi and some of the guys go back behind there.
That being said, I had BB8 and enjoyed it immensely. Cheesy
